Welcome
Last updated: July 22, 2008 ***I lost my laptop which had
ALL of my emails and files on it. If you contacted me and had no responce, please...email or call me (413-267-0580).
I'm so very sorry for the trouble. I have been trying to get information to contact everyone. Please understand I've
just been terribly busy with horses and my computer being fried was an icing. Contacting me over the phone is the best
way to reach me right now, but feel free to email me with questions and all, but please include your name and number.
Thanks so very much! Thank you so much for visiting my site, viewing my bunnies and adoring them! :)***
Windswept Bunnies is located in central Massachusetts, a little over 15 minutes from historic Sturbridge MA.
Roughly an hour and half drive from Boston and 45 minutes from Hartford. We are located in a small town where
the trees and forest land greatly out number the people and the night sky is completely void of any town lights.
I have been raising Holland lops for over fourteen years. I am a small rabbitry, and love to raise and keep bunnies
as a hobby. Horses are my true passion but I really
adore these little bunnies and just can't seem to fully pull myself away from them despite my overly busy schedule.
All my bunnies are kept inside and handled every day since birth. I do not believe bunnies should be kept outside,
they should be inside away from extremes of heat, cold and possible drafts, plus they get more human attention time
if they are always around.
I strive to produce friendly and competitive show quality animals, with a "toy" like appearance. Personality is a big
breeding factor for me, I want bunnies that like to be held and handled, that enjoy pats on the heads and cuddling.
To me, unless the bunny is friendly it doesn't matter how wonderful of a show animal it is, it needs to have both.
For the breed standard, I strive for perfection. To me a Holland lop should be a small, teaspoon eared, overly
compact, dense, short and stumpy little bunny with the appearance of a ball. I tend to refer to my bunnies as
butterballs because of this. On top of personality and competitive qualities for showing, I try to produce a toy
like appearance to my Holland lops, almost a little bit of a signature. I have had several adults, even the big 'tough'
guys see these bunnies and go 'aww' or make baby noises, and better yet... pick them up. I just hope others feel the same
way when they see them too!
